Linden Row Inn - Photo by Maralyn D. Hill

Linden Row Inn in Richmond, Virginia is a great American inn and a special place any time of year. Linden Row is a 70- room boutique hotel of seven lovely townhomes. We felt like we were in a cozy country inn. Breakfast was delicious with make your own waffles.

We  especially enjoyed the cool nights and warm days as the leaves continued to change color. We walked everywhere we wanted to be from this historic spot.

Book one of their charming  antique furnished suites, some are 500 square feet, or spaciious room before New Years Day for 2 nights for a special price.

A Washington Post writer, Sofia Smardz,  recently featured
Linden Row Inn in an Edgar Allan Poe related article about this charming and haunting piece of history.

INSIGHT VACATIONS ENHANCES SELECT CHOICES PRODUCT LINE FOR 2011 Top European Tour Operator Announces Changes to Independent-Style Touring Program

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

Insight Vacations has a nice selection of vacations, so we thought we would share this information.

Rye, NY: Insight Vacations has announced the launch of the 2011 Select Choices collection, featuring a range of European city breaks with all the benefits of independent travel without any of the hassles, including 12 new itineraries.

The new Select Choices program, which is featured in Insight’s 2011 Premium Europe and Britain program, and as a standalone brochure, consists of 18 flexible journeys in a range of desirable destinations.

Marc Kazlauskas, President of Insight Vacations, stated “I’m delighted to announce the launch of our 2011 Select Choices program, which has almost doubled since its successful introduction into the market last year. In fact, the response has been so positive, that this year we have extended the collection to cover even more cities, and have now added Edinburgh, Dublin, Florence, Venice, Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Istanbul, Athens and the Greek Islands to our range of flexible journeys, to complement the existing options of London, Paris, Rome, Florence and Venice.”

On Insight’s Select Choices program, flexibility is the key component throughout. An orientation tour is included in each city, giving guests the perfect starting point to begin their own personal exploration, taking in sights and highlights that match their specific interests.

“The itineraries are less structured, meaning travelers simply need to choose the cities they would like to visit. They are able to tailor their vacation to their personal preferences by adding or removing nights, depending on how long they would like to stay” added Kazlauskas.

To ensure that the experience is completely hassle-free, Insight’s expert tour directors are on hand acting as a ‘personal concierge’, providing well-informed yet unobtrusive assistance in each destination. The tour directors will also offer guests a range of half or full day excursions that are more tailored to individual tastes such as a guided tour of the Louvre in Paris, a visit to the mighty Colosseum and Catacombs in Rome or a cruise along the Bosphorus in Istanbul. Each excursion has been designed to enhance a client’s stay and is completely at their discretion.

These itineraries offer the perfect solution for individuals who prefer a more independent style of travel, but want to take advantage of the hassle-free, great value and high quality style that Insight is renowned for. Every itinerary includes transport in style and comfort, whether by luxury coaches limited to just 40 seats providing extra legroom, Eurostar, Express Rail, ferries or local flights; accommodation in quality hotels in great central locations, highlight stops, buffet breakfasts daily, expert commentary from your ‘personal concierge’ and a whole lot more.

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

This festival is a huge opportunity for wineries. Please check it out. If you would like to donate wine, please contact: Joan Joffa at j.joffaacme@verizon.net or see additional contact information at the bottom of the email.

The Tucson Museum of Art will hold its Fourth Annual CRUSH Wine, Food, and Art Festival on April 1 and 2, 2011. All events sold out at this very popular festival last year! The Friday
night CRUSH pARTy, ‘Under the Stars’ is held on the grounds of the Museum. Guests enjoy live music, sample wines from over 150 wineries, food from local restaurants, and bid on the
fabulous array of fine art, experiences and wine in the Silent Auction! The elegant Saturday evening CRUSH Classic, The Rhythm of Rio! is held at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort.
.
During the reception, more than 250 guests enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres, while bidding on the Silent Auction and previewing the Live Auction. After the reception, they adjourn to a gourmet wine-paired dinner and bid in the Live Auction for fine art, rare wine and intriguing travel packages. All proceeds benefit the Museum, particularly the education and exhibition programs.
We are asking you to support the Museum by donating wine for the Silent and Live Auctions. 20 – 40 cases of assorted wines (reds and whites) are needed for the Auctions. Mixed
cases are welcome. Each donating vineyard will have the opportunity in be included in the promotional materials, as described in the attached letter. We also are in need of 10
– 12 large bottles (preferably signed) for the Live Auction. Recognition in promotional materials as described in the attached letter.
.
This is a great way to support an important Tucson institution and to reach a savvy, upscale audience. Please visit the CRUSH website www.tucsonmuseumofart.org/crush/ to see photos from last year’s events. Beginning late this fall, the website will be updated with information about this year’s events.
.
This festival is crucial to the life of the Museum. The Museum must raise more than 99% of its budget on its own, with $1M needed from fundraising efforts. The success of CRUSH depends on the coordinated efforts of all of the Museum support organizations, the Museum staff, artist donors and other donors, the business community, and the patrons of the Tucson Museum of Art.
I thank you for your serious consideration and would be happy to clarify any issues if you call, or email me at nlandes922@gmail.com. If you decide to contribute, please complete and
return the “Auction Donation Commitment” form no later than December 6, 2010 to be listed in the brochure and CRUSH Preview Magazine and by February 28, 2011 to be included in the
Auction!
